Health Care Advocacy Across the Lifespan: WEBINAR
What Parents of Children with Disabilities Need to Know
presented by Valerie Powers Smith, Esq.

Helping NJ Families access health coverage and health services. Parenting a child with special health care needs is not an easy task. Health insurance is a complex system. A complete understanding of your coverage is critical to securing all the services your child needs, and a way to learn about other programs through which your child could also obtain coverage. The more you know, the more you will be able to maximize coverage. This presentation will help you learn the things you need to know about your health care coverage and to access care through a variety of health care service systems.

Click on this link to register: https://tadnet.ilinc.com/register/jycpmyt

Understanding ADHD
Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) represent 3-5% of America's school-age population. They can and do succeed when adults who work with them understand that their behaviors respond to instruction and intervene in positive ways. This workshop has been developed to help educate parents, teachers and others about ADHD. It consists of areas addressing diagnosis (what it is, who can diagnose it, services/interventions), disability categories under which a child may qualify for services, behavior management and instructional strategies.
